Description

This classic, unique ring is made in the shape of a grasshopper, hence the Hmong name kooj nplas (pronounced kong bla), referring to the oblong shape of the top of a certain type of grasshopper found in Southeast Asia. Historically, Hmong artists were inspired by their natural surrounding; silversmiths were no different as seen in the design of this ring.

In the 1960s these rings were very popular among Hmong women, so much so that many wore a ring on each finger. It was a symbol of prosperity.

Sterling silver, lightweight with two sharp ends; one adjustable size.

Options: Large - Silver or Large - Black Finish ($70)
Small - Silver or Small - Black Finish ($60)
